Meet Xula

xula founders

Xula is a Latinx and Black-owned CBD brand born in Mexico City.

Xula was founded out of our mutual respect for the cannabis plant. As women who spend our time in the U.S. and Mexico, we recognized that both spaces lack representations of women and products specifically for our bodies. Our brand doubles as a platform to celebrate and amplify both cultures

“It is evident that we live in a world that promotes and rewards stress filled lifestyles and I truly believe that CBD as well as herbs can act as a countering force to this-helping us find more inner balance.”

Karina’s professional background consists in theoretical and practical knowledge of the human experience and the use of substances and practices to help unlock this potential. Cannabis has become her focal point in recent years and it is through this that xula was born.

As a queer woman, she sees the importance of living comfortably in our own skin and envisions CBD and herbs as a way to seek the inner balance we crave to live in this hectic and stressed out society.

“After sixteen years of working in the cannabis industry, only 4.3 % of Black / 5.7% of Latinx people are in executive roles—that’s tragic.”

Mennlay Golokeh Aggrey is an author and interdisciplinary cannabis professional, working in the legalized markets since 2005. Through her visibility she hopes to help navigate a more inclusive industry.

She currently resides in Mexico City, where her work explores cannabis, foodways, and the diasporic connections between Africa and Latin America.
