The Seven Most Popular Questions About CBD Sexual Wellness with Quim

It’s been a minute since we’ve caught up with our favorite duo from sexual wellness self-care line Quim, Cyo Nystrom and Rachel Washtien. So we’ve got them back in to answer their most commonly asked questions.

Cyo and Rachel believe it is high time we break the cycle and start treating our quim’s with some much needed TLC. Using natural ingredients in their formulas like tea tree oil, cannabis, and damiana, it is their mission to create sustainable and proactive products that deepen the connection we each have with our own bodies.

Why create natural plant wellness products for vaginas?

Historically, products created for vaginal health and sexual wellness have not been designed to take sustainable, proactive, self-care into account.

We can all agree that lube is a godsend, but the most widely available are glycerin-based. Because bacteria and fungus feed on the sugar in glycerin, these products can quickly lead to UTIs. The antibiotics prescribed for a UTI completely wipe out all the “good bacteria” along with the bad, increasing the risk of getting a yeast infection.

Over the counter medication is relatively accessible and effective, but those suppositories will leave your vag drier than the Sahara, sending you right back to the lube that got you here in the first place. Woof.

The cycle is not working. We deserve more.
This is where Quim was born.

“I’m going out of town this weekend, so I need to pick up some Quim because, you know #vacationsex”

THC vs. CBD: What is it and why is it in Quim?

DISCLAIMER: Despite the overwhelming amount of claims regarding cannabis and sex, there’s currently no clinical research proving that cannabis has any direct influence on sexual experience. Until then, we must rely on personal case studies and reporting. In a recent survey, Remedy Review found 68% of people who tried CBD for sexual purposes found it to improve their sex life, while others say it helped them relax and improves their overall mood. So while there is evidence that supports a connection between cannabis and sex, we’re still waiting for clinical backup & FDA approval. The products mentioned below are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

THC and CBD are both unique chemical compounds (cannabinoids) found in the cannabis plant. There are over 100 known cannabinoids within the plant. THC, also called Delta-0-tetrahydrocannabinol, is the most well-known compound found in the cannabis plant. CBD, also called Cannabidiol, is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant.

THC absorbed vaginally has been shown to increase blood flow - enhancing sensation and increasing sex drive.* Women also have found THC to decrease coitus-related vaginal pain.* Quim uses THC in their Night Moves and Oh YES! Products. Both are available throughout California in licensed dispensaries and delivery services.

Various studies suggest CBD absorbed vaginally can increase blood flow, promote pelvic relaxation, and decrease inflammation and pain.* Women have found it to be helpful when experiencing pelvic floor pain, PCOS, endometriosis, pain with penetration, or after recently given birth (among many others!)* Quim uses hemp-derived CBD in our Happy Clam and Smooth Operator products. Both are available here at mjlifestyle.com

Can you use Quim with Latex?

Can Quim help with vaginal dryness?

* These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

What about painful periods?

Quim recommends trying Smooth Operator or Happy Clam in conjunction with menstrual cups, tampons, or even on its own for anti-inflammatory relief.

Can I use this to help recover from vaginal birth?

Congrats mama! Both Smooth Operator and Happy Clam can support the healing process and help you get back in the saddle whenever you’re ready.
